Cuttlefish Casting in Pewter

Come and try the ancient technique of cuttlefish casting, create a pendant or keyring from a treasured beach find!

Get in touch to find out dates.

Bring along a special beach find like a favourite shell or carve a shape into the soft inner surface. We will be using pewter which has a low melting temperature, to create a cast of your piece. The object you make can be kept as a small sculptural object or turned into a pendant or keyring. Will you keep it or give it as a gift?

This class is suitable for beginners as well as those who have some jewellery making experience. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty/dirty and shoes that cover your toes!

"Really enjoyable morning. Katy explains things so well, we all had a good result to take home. Could have done a whole day as you learn so much with the first casting it would have been good to have had another go. Venue is lovely if a little bit out the way and the cake is just scrumptious. I look forward to a return visit to do some silversmithing. Thank you Katy." Grace
